Video Description

This quarter (Spring, 2011) I created a multimedia project centered around Kim Mitman, "The Mad Poet." Kim is a brilliant writer and friend of mine who struggles with bipolar disorder. She uses her writing, friends, medication, and her faith in God to keep herself together. Through portraiture and interviews I gained a greater understanding of her illness and the poetry that is created as a result. - Heather Schofner

"I started to notice the symptoms when I was 5. I am 18 now and ready to graduate from High School to move onto college. My best advice is keep fighting; you are worth it."
