Avoid being nervous

Back

Is there something you want to do but get nervous every time you attempt it? Do you believe that it's impossible to not be nervous about it? Do you want to build some confidence? Here's how to do it in a few easy steps.

Steps

  1. Get regular physical exercise. Find a way out which reduces your stress through a fun activity like walking or jogging, swimming, biking, yoga, tennis or dancing... Do something that makes your blood flow and you'll kick out that stress from your body.
  2. Meditate. This is an ancient way to remove stress, pain and panic from your body. While meditating, just relax and think nice, pleasant thoughts.
  3. Talk to a pet or stuffed animal. If you have a favourite stuffed animal or a pet, they are the best about calming you down. They will listen to you and cuddling with your pet if it is the animal you want to relax with. If not, just talk to them and tell them about being nervous about what you are going to do. Pets are a real comfort.
  4. Listen to your favourite music. If you have a favourite song, listen to it and get your mind totally off it.
  5. Create a Zen bedroom it is not against anyone's religion, it is just a place where you leave worries at the door.
  6. Start out simple. Before attempting the entire thing, just do a bit of it. Then a bit more, then another bit more. Do not use this as an excuse for not attempting it often.
  7. Attempt to do the entire thing. Don't stress out or panic. Remember, you can pause at certain times.
