Video Description

"Today I talk about 5 ways that you can help someone who has an eating disorder. I have heard from many of you that you have a boyfriend or girlfriend or loved one who is struggling and you don't know how to help. Here are some ways that you can! I hope you find these helpful! Also, add in any others you can think of in the comments and please SHARE this video! xox
1. Educate yourself about the disorder and what treatment options there are for it.
2. Check up on them and remind them you are there and care.
3. Help (if they need) with treatment options and the support needed to seek help. Also, if they need, help them get to their appointments.
4. Know that recovery isn't perfect and support their individual process. This could be eating with them, listening to their struggle or helping them distract.
5. Taking care of yourself! If you don't take care of yourself first, you won't be able to offer anything extra to them. So make sure you are getting support you need and taking time for yourself. xox

"Being strong is being able to get out of your eating disorder and becoming healthy, even when the voice in your head won’t let you. Ignoring this voice, is being the strongest, so don’t ever give up."
